Hey, it’s the season of smiles and festivities here in Bacolod and you may like to come and visit the city.
It’s Masskara Festival in the City of Smiles and everyone is in good spirits. There is a breath of laughter, radiance and that feeling of being overwhelmed by the way that Bacolodnons are celebrating the festival. If you haven’t thought of where to go this week, better make sure that you take time to stop by Bacolod and discover what the city offers you.
Colorful Street Dancing
Every year, there is a lively and upbeat dance competition that is being held during the highlight of the festival. The street dance competition is participated by the different barangays in the city. Each barangay will provide representatives who will dance to the chosen masskara tune. They would be donning their most colorful costumes, and will compete in who has got the loveliest headdress. The masks are designed by professional artists and each participant will be wearing that mask that bears the best smile that Bacolodnons offer. Normally, they dance along Araneta St., going to the public plaza where they will be doing their final performance before the judges.
There are some areas in the city where tourists and locals alike can hangout and party. There are also events organized by different groups that provide the best partying destinations. Some of these party places include roof decks of different local hotels. For those who are looking for some action or for some “barkada gimmick” then try to visit these parties for this week.
Indeed, Masskara Festival has been one of the best festivals in the country today. It gets people from different parts of the country to converge in one place where people are simply in the “party mode.” Those people who found Bacolod really conducive for living didn’t hesitate in looking for lots for sale where they can invest in. Some even opted to stay in Bacolod for good.
Still in the process of looking for a destination for this week? Visit Bacolod and join the Masskara celebration.
